Network Engineer II

Job Duties
Work on projects primarily involving adding new switches and wireless access points to the network. Responsibilities will also include expanding and redesigning some of our campus networks. General tasks involved are as follows:
• New building expansions and/or hardware upgrades at campus facilities requiring hardware procurement, configuration, and installation
• New remote site installations requiring hardware procurement, configuration, and installation
• Static IP assignments and documentation
• VLAN assignments on switch ports for new devices/servers added to the network
• Create and update existing network diagrams in Visio
• Some time working in a plant environment
• Some travel within the southeast TX region (e.g. Houston Ship Channel, Mont Belvieu, Beaumont)
Skills
• Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches:
o ISR, ASR, Catalyst
• Experience with the following protocols:
o OSPF, EIGRP, GRE
• Experience with campus networks
o VLANs, SVIs, spanning-tree
o Fiber optic uplinks
• Experience with various WAN circuit technology
o T1, MetroEthernet, VSAT, cellular
• Experience with Microsoft Visio diagramming
Education/Experience
• CCNA or higher certification required
• 3-5 years of experience working with Cisco networking equipment
Short Term - Contract
$33 - $42 Per Hour
