JOB DESCRIPTION

**Job Description ** We are currently seeking an experienced Data Management Specialist to join the Big Data and Advanced Analytics department. As part of the Business Data Management team, the Data Specialist will work closely with business domain experts and Data Scientists to solve real-world oil and gas midstream problems by unlocking the data asset value and enabling advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. This individual will help with data processing and analysis, to advance the data management practice within the organization.

Responsibilities include:

Work directly with business domain experts and Data Scientists to understand the objectives, recommend and develop solutions, and deliver trusted, cleansed, curated data sets in a timely manner and ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data Perform exploratory data analysis and present findings for further analysis Architect and implement high quality analytical applications and data products Automate manual data flows for repeated use and scalability Develop data-intensive applications with API’s and streaming data pipelines Assists business data analysts and data scientists with data extraction, query optimization, and data processing Implement data quality checks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability Create and implement policies and procedures for data management Determine methods for quality data collection Define and implement procedures for data sharing with upper management, management and external stakeholders Support the business in the daily use of data systems Ensure adherence to legal and company standards and policies Monitor and analyze information and data systems, and their performance Troubleshoot data-related problems

Qualifications:

5+ years of functional programming experience in Python 2+ years of experience developing SQL-based applications 2+ years of experience in business analysis and requirements gathering 2+ years of experience performing exploratory data analysis using common statistical methods 2+ years of experience working with industrial IOT data and performing time series analysis 3+ years of experience implementing proven data governance, data lineage, data catalog tools Excellent understanding of data administration Critical thinker and problem-solving skills Good time-management skills Great interpersonal and communication skills Experience in software development practices such as Design Principles and Patterns, Testing, CI/CD, and version control Domain experience in Oil & Gas and/or an engineering discipline such as Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred

Full Time - Contract, Short Term Position

$78 - $98 per hour
